Run production was a struggle for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers during their previous series. Find out why that will continue in our MLB picks as the two clubs open up a three-game set.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers begin a three-game series at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Monday.

The Dodgers posted a 5-2 victory in 10 innings on Sunday night in San Diego, winning for the eighth time in the past nine games.

Meanwhile, the Brewers begin a six-game homestand after a 1-5 road trip. Milwaukee ended the journey on a high note though, winning 7-3 in San Francisco against the Giants on Sunday.

Can the Dodgers remain red hot? Or will the Brewers cool them off and pick up a much-needed victory in the series opener? We’ll discuss in our free MLB picks and predictions for Dodgers vs. Brewers on Monday, May 8.

Dodgers vs Brewers predictions

The schedule maker wasn’t terribly kind to either of these teams, but especially not to Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Dodgers needed to play in San Diego on Sunday Night Baseball, and of course the game went to extra innings, too.

The Dodgers didn’t arrive in Milwaukee until 4:13 a.m. ET, according to flightaware.com. That's an awfully tough turnaround with the first pitch against the Brewers at 7:40 p.m. ET. The team likely didn’t get into the hotel for a quick nap until right before sunrise.

The Milwaukee Brewers weren’t in that much better shape coming in from San Francisco after arriving back home around 12:20 a.m. ET. While that’s quite late with a game the next day, at least they’re the home team and players can sleep in their own beds. Advantage Milwaukee.

The Dodgers managed to score just nine total runs in three games on the road against the San Diego Padres, winning twice as the Under connected during each outing.

The Brewers have experienced an offensive power outage, too, posting 21 runs across the past seven games, or just 3.0 runs per contest. Additionally, Brewers righty Freddy Peralta has produced a solid 2.66 ERA in 23 2/3 innings across four home starts.

I'm banking on the low scores to continue as the two teams struggle with the twig and come off a tough night of travel. Go low on the total, and feel confident in doing so.

Dodgers vs Brewers moneyline analysis

The Dodgers have managed a decent job against right-handed starting pitchers, and that’s good news for the visitors. Los Angeles has managed a 71-28 record over the past 99 games against a right-hander. The Dodgers have also gone 41-18 in the past 59 road games versus righties.

Los Angeles is also an impressive 58-22 in the past 80 games in the opening contest of a series, while going 49-19 in the last 68 outings against National League Central Division opponents.

The Brewers have really been struggling of late, winning just once in the past seven games overall. They’re also a dismal 1-5 in the past six tries against NL West foes.

Additionally, Milwaukee is just 2-5 in its past seven matchups against right-handed starting pitchers, while going 1-4 in the past five series openers.

While that sounds bad for the home side, the Brewers are a little more rested than the Dodgers. Milwaukee also rises to the occasion against good teams, winning four straight when facing winning clubs, and six in a row at American Family Field.

Dodgers vs Brewers Over/Under analysis

The Dodgers have scored five-plus runs in five of their past seven games. Los Angeles is averaging 7.3 runs per game across its previous seven outings, though the Under cashed in three straight games in San Diego.

The Over has cashed in six of the past eight road games for the Dodgers while going 10-4 in the last 14 games overall. The team is also 9-3 to the Over across its past 12 on the road versus righties, and the Over has hit at a 7-2 clip across the past nine against NL Central opponents too.

For the home side, the Under is 4-1-1 in the past six games at American Family Field, while going 7-3-1 in the past 11 contests overall. However, the Over is 4-1 in the previous five at home against teams with a winning record.

The Over has also cashed in nine of the past 12 meetings between these teams. It's hit during each of Tony Gonsolin’s two starts so far this season too, as he's still trying to get into a groove after missing the first month.
