Milwaukee Brewers vs San Diego Padres Prediction 8-26-23 MLB Picks

The San Diego Padres and the Milwaukee Brewers meet Saturday in MLB action from American Family Field. This will be the second matchup in a three-game series over the weekend. On Friday in the opener, the Brewers managed a four-run victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

San Diego Padres

The Padres played the Marlins in their last series and did pretty well with two wins in three games. During a 4-0 shutout win Wednesday San Diego’s Xander Bogaerts managed a two-run homer. In the Friday game the Padres gave up five runs in the third inning during a 7-3 defeat. Manny Machado and Gary Sanchez each had home runs in the loss.

As starter for Saturdays’ matchup it’ll be Pedro Avila. This year in seven games (one start) Avila has a 1.17 ERA without a decision and 28 Ks in 23.0 innings total. Avila is 0-1 in his career with a 1.73 ERA in 11 games (three starts).

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably stay with the Brewers in this one. Peralta is pitching well right now. Over his last three starts, Peralta is 3-0 with just two earned runs in 18.2 innings on nine hits and five walks. As for Avila, he’s got just one earned in his last 9.1 frames. In the Friday opener of this set, Milwaukee had a couple of pretty significant innings but got a little sloppy toward the end of the game. I like the Brewers to clean it up and post another win in game two, though.
