Doinitthehardway Can Get First Career Win in Starlet Stakes
The $300,000, Grade 1 Starlet Stakes is Saturday at Los Alamitos. It's a race for 2-year-old fillies hoping to earn points on the Road to the Longines Kentucky Oaks. There are no stakes winners in this group. The best finish in a stakes came in the Grade 2 Chandelier Stake in October.
Doinitthehardway is the only horse in the field that has yet to win a race. Doinithe hardway won her debut in August at five furlongs. She finished second in her second start in September and third in November. Blessed Touch won in October. Faiza has only run once and never around two turns. She's another Baffert trainee. The trainer has a very strong record in 2-year-old stakes going back five years. He won the Runhappy Santa Anita Derby with Taiba. His trainer Tim Yakteen won a similar race with Faizia.
