York 1.50 - Relief Rally

The William Haggas team are firing on all cylinders at present, and the exciting RELIEF RALLY looks to have a golden opportunity to add the Group 2 Lowther Stakes to her resume.

The daughter of Kodiac has only tasted defeat once and that came at Royal Ascot, when beaten a nose in the Queen Mary. Since then, she fairly bolted up in the Super Sprint at Newbury where she was powering clear as she hit the line of that 5f event.

She steps up to 6f for the first time here, and given the manner in which she has been seeing out the minimum trip gives every pointer that the step up to this distance will suit, especially at a track like York. Tom Marquand takes the ride, and a big performance is expected.

York 3.35 - Al Husn each-way

AL HUSN looks the each-way angle in the Yorkshire Oaks. The Roger Varian trained daughter of Dubawi has been progressing at a rapid rate this year, winning a Listed race at Ayr in May, before going on to land a Group 3 prize at Newcastle, beating Nashwa and company, before seeing off that rival amongst others once again, as she dined at the top table for the first time in taking the Group 1 Nassau Stakes in smart fashion.

The unknown here is the step up to 1m4f for the first time, as she will be going into unknown territory stamina-wise. However, I think she has shaped as though this trip on a flat track could bring about even more improvement, so I take it as more of a positive than something to hold against her.

This filly is going places and this looks the perfect opportunity to make it back-to-back wins at the top level. David Egan takes the ride and I am finding it hard to knock the combination out of the frame from an each-way point of view.

York 4.45 - Blue Collar each-way

We have 7f Nursery action here, and I like the look of BLUE COLLAR from an each-way perspective. The Richard Hannon team have hit some form, and Blue Collar ran a real eye-catching race when dropped back to 6f at Newbury last time out, making late headway from out the back of proceedings inside the closing stages, having looked outpaced at the 2f marker.

The way the colt responded to pressure suggests that a return to this distance will be optimum, and going into Handicap company for the first time off a mark of 77 probably sees this individual underestimated.

Andrea Atzeni takes the ride and it wouldn't be a shock if Blue Collar got in the shake-up here at appealing odds.
