Joe Gibbs Racing is the favorite for the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond. The playoff race is heating up.

Denny Hamlin won the spring race at Richmond. Martin Truex Jr. has eight straight Top-5 finishes at the track. Kyle Busch has been in the Top 9 in nearly half of his last 13 starts. Christopher Bell was fourth and third last year and sixth in this year's spring.

Ryan Blaney has never had a Top 5 in 12 starts at Richmond. Austin Cindric was 20th as a rookie. Joey Logano was 17th this past spring.

Toyota are the heavy favorites for the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond. Toyota has won the race in 2018 and 2019. JGR went 1-2-3-4 in Sept. 2019 and had the fastest race cars here in April. Hendrick Motorsports and Team Penske haven't been at their best on short tracks this season. Martin Truex Jr. needs to win to keep his season alive.

Richmond is a very different track from other places. Starting position doesn't matter as much. Two of the last three winners started outside of Top 10. The eventual winner finished in the Top 6 of opening stage in three of last five races. In 16 of 20 races on the season, the eventual race winner scored stage points in second stage. However, in last two years, stage 2 winner has only two wins.
