Floyd Schofield vs. Haskell Rhodes date, start time, odds, price & card for 2023 boxing fight

Presented as boxing's future, Floyd Schofield will have a tough task ahead of him following his promotion to the main event of a Golden Boy-produced show against veteran Haskell Rhodes. The two lightweights look to deliver on a big stage on July 8.

Schofield vs. Rhodes is inside the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, and airs on DAZN.

The bout was supposed to be on the undercard of Eimantas Stanionis vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr. but got moved up after Ortiz had to back out of the fight. Shelly Finkel, Stanionis' manager, stated Ortiz fainted and needed to get hospitalized. It was the third time a bout between the two got nixed.

Schofield turned pro in 2020. The 20-year-old won the NABF junior super featherweight title in 2021 against Pedro Vicente Scharbaai. With 11 wins via knockout, Schofield beat Jesus Valentin Leon in April via the power punch.

"It's a blessing. I got everyone coming up to me talking about, 'You the main event, you gotta do what you gotta do.' Hearing that, I gotta make a statement. I was training just as hard as if I was the main event from the beginning. Saturday night, I'm gonna make a statement," Schofield said via Boxing Scene.

Rhodes turned pro in 2011. "Hackman" had his 24-fight unbeaten streak snapped in 2015 against Sergey Lipinets. Since that loss, he has gone 5-3 and is 2-2 in his past four fights. The 35-year-old last fought in March, beating Raymond Chacon via unanimous decision.
