Fulham can take advantage

It is no secret that Manchester United are in turmoil both on and off the pitch.

Behind the scenes at Old Trafford the ownership debate rages on, while they have just suffered back-to-back 3-0 home losses to bitter local rivals Manchester City and a heavily rotated Newcastle side – and Fulham could add to the pressure growing on Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.

The Cottagers have lost just one of their past five home matches and a midweek League Cup victory over a strong Ipswich side followed a solid 1-1 draw at European hopefuls Brighton in the league. That will have given them added confidence ahead of the ailing United’s visit.

Fulham are yet to land a big win this season, but their point at the Amex Stadium was a step in the right direction and they could not wish to face a better member of the big six based on current form.

However, they are winless in their past 17 meetings with the Red Devils, and their visitors have won their previous two away matches, although against relatively lowly opponents Burnley and Sheffield United. So having the safety net of stakes returned if the game ends level seems prudent.

Tight game expected

Manchester United have conceded 10 goals in their five away league games this season, with their only clean sheet coming against a relegation-threatened Burnley, suggesting Fulham should have no problems in finding the net this time.

The Cottagers have scored seven goals in their past four matches and both teams have netted in the previous five meetings between these sides.

United, despite their recent struggles, should also have enough to score – with Rasmus Hojlund, in particular, looking promising of late without getting just rewards.

But while both teams should net, do not expect a goalfest. Only one of the past 10 meetings has generated five goals, so take under 4.5 goals alongside both sides scoring.

Bumper bet builder creates value

This looks a good fixture in which to use Sky Bet’s bet builder feature, with plenty of appealing markets to get involved in.

Given both teams’ defensive woes, over 1.5 goals looks extremely likely and we have selected a player from both sides to register a shot on target as part of a bumper five-leg same-game multiple.

Rodrigo Muniz scored his first Fulham goal against Ipswich and could displace the misfiring Raul Jimenez up top for the Cottagers, so back him to have a sight on goal alongside United midfielder Scott McTominay.

The Scot has, somewhat surprisingly, become one of United’s biggest threats in recent weeks, managing four shots on target in his past three league matches, including at least one in each of those games.

Bruno Fernandes has cut a frustrated figure during the Red Devils’ recent malaise and the United skipper is worth backing to commit a foul in the capital, having given away three free kicks against Manchester City last week.

No Fulham player has committed more fouls than left back Antonee Robinson, so take the American to be penalised again up against tricky United winger Antony.

Only Arsenal (82) have taken more corners in this season’s Premier League than United (69), so back Ten Hag’s men to have at least five against a Fulham side who will likely dig in defensively and throw in plenty of blocks as United take more shots while their frustration grows.

Fulham vs Manchester United tip 3: Bet builder: over 1.5 goals, Fernandes and Robinson 1+ fouls, McTominay and Muniz 1+ shot on target, Manchester United 5+ corners @ 17/2 with Sky Bet
