GABRIEL BONFIM VS NICOLAS DALBY LOWDOWN

Gabriel Bonfim (15-0) fights on home soil protecting his perfect record. He has finished all 15 of his wins and made his anticipated entrance after submitting Trey Waters (2022) on the Contender Series. Mounir Lazzez welcomed him to the octagon at the start of the year and got caught in a guillotine for his troubles. Trevin Giles was next in line at UFC 291 and became victim to the Brazilian’s fourth first-round submission in a row.

Nicolas Dalby (22-4-1(2)) is next up for the finisher and is riding a three-fight win streak. This has come in response to losing a unanimous decision to Tim Means (2021) which is his only loss during his second UFC stint. He responded with three decisions of his own over Claudio Silva (2022), Warlley Alves (2023) and Muslim Salikhov (2023) to boost his UFC record to 6-3-1(1).

GABRIEL BONFIM VS NICOLAS DALBY PREDICTION

This is a great match-up as Bonfim has never gone 15 minutes and Dalby is very durable and never been finished so this is a great test for the Brazilian.

Bonfim will not change the game plan and will eventually take Dalby down and work on a submission. Dalby’s takedown defence is a decent, but we do not feel it will be enough to prevent landing on his back.

Until that happens, we expect some trading on the feet. Dalby will bounce in and out of range landing leg kicks and going up top, but we can see him underestimating the striking of Bonfim who is very technical.

This should be a competitive scrap until they end up on the canvas and Dalby is always worth a punt when he is such a big underdog. However, we feel Bonfim may just inflict the first finish on the Dane’s record.

Prediction: Bonfim via Submission
