The Lions clocked a decisive win in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers. The divisional matchup launched the Lions to the top of the NFC North and a comfortable lead compared to the Packers (2-2), Minnesota Vikings (1-3), and Chicago Bears (1-4).

The Lions are now 3-1 and very likely to bump that up to 4-1 this week against the struggling Panthers.

Against Green Bay, the Lions started hot, going up by 11 points by the end of the first quarter. By halftime, they were up by a whopping 24. The Packers started a comeback in the second half, but it wasn’t enough. The Lions eventually won 34-20.

The team is exciting to watch, with explosive talent on both sides of the ball.

Lions QB Jared Goff is getting more consistent, despite throwing some interceptions in his past three games. But he showed how he can make up for it in the Packers game. After being picked off in the first two minutes, he quickly turned it back around for a touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The offense also boasts RB David Montgomery, Josh Reynolds, and Jameson Williams is returning from suspension this week. Jahmyr Gibbs has been a little disappointing this season so far and is sitting out this week with an injury.

Back at home, we expect the Lions to make a nice snack of Panthers.

The Panthers are still winless this season and will be hungry for a win. But we don’t think this is the week for them.

They almost notched a win in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings with a stellar pick-6 by Sam Franklin in the first quarter. But rookie QB Bryce Young is still on a learning curve and struggled in the second half. He completed 26-of-39 passes for 209 yards total.

The Panthers didn’t put any points on the board after halftime and lost 21-13.

The positive side for Carolina is that they’ve won four of their last five head-to-heads against Detroit. But this isn’t the same Detroit team anyone is used to.

They’ll have to dig deep – and really deep – to get a win on the road this week.

We know that 10 points is a big spread for oddsmakers to choose for an NFL game. But we still think this Lions team could do it.

Of course, the Bears winning in Week 4 against the Commanders reminded us that anything is possible. But just…not with the Panthers against the Lions?

Jared Goff is hitting his stride, and he’s got massively talented targets in Reynolds, Jameson, and TE Sam LaPorta, even with St. Brown and Gibbs out with injuries.

We’re not betting against the Lions.
