Golf betting tips: Zurich Classic, ISPS Handa Championship and LIV Golf Adelaide picks

The PGA Tour golf has a different look this week with the pairs event at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele are 3/1 to successfully defend their trophy, with 80 partnerships due to play two rounds of fourballs and two foursomes.

Last week’s RBC Heritage winner Matt Fitzpatrick is playing alongside his brother Alex and they are 30/1 for glory.

Burns and Horschel can go one better

Last year's runners-up Sam Burns and Billy Horschel are back to have another go and we should expect a bold bid.

It is less than a month since Burns won the WGC-World Match Play, which came after he was sixth at the Valspar Championship, and he was 15th at the Heritage last week.

Horschel tends to blow hot and cold but can flourish in these tournaments. He won this when it was an individual event in 2013 and alongside Scott Piercy five years ago, also finishing fourth alongside Burns in 2021.

Tip: Sam Burns & Billy Horschel to win outright @ 16/1  with bet365

Im and Mitchell can make presence felt

Classy performer Sungjae Im has finished in the top 20 in his previous four tournaments, including 16th place at the Masters and it would not be a surprise if he improved on the 14th he posted with Byeong-Hun An last year when he plays alongside Keith Mitchell.

He was seventh at the Heritage and while Mitchell has gone off the boil of late, he has had a couple of top-10 finishes this year and was fourth alongside Brandt Snedeker two years ago.

Tip: Sungjae Im & Keith Mitchell to win outright @ 12/1 with bet365

Golf betting tips: ISPS Handa Championship

The DP World Tour heads to Japan for the ISPS Handa Championship, which was a domestic affair last year because of travel restrictions.

Rasmus Hojgaard is 18/1 joint-favourite despite being out of action since February due to injury and is alongside South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout at the top of the market.

Course should suit Luiten

The course that the field faces at PGM Ishioka is a tight, tree-lined affair and that should suit Dutchman Joost Luiten down to the ground.

He goes in search of his seventh DP World Tour title and could make a very strong challenge.

Luiten was 43rd at the Johnson Workwear Open on a layout that is less suited to him and more attention should be paid to the third places he earned in Thailand and India, and his ninth place in the SDC Championship in South Africa.

Tip: Joost Luiten to win outright @ 40/1 with bet365

Higa can make his mark

There will be a strong Japanese challenge this week and it could be headed by Kazuki Higa.

He missed cuts at the Texas Open and the Masters but those results are hardly a disgrace and he simply didn’t have the length to challenge at Augusta.

A good performance is expected from the man who was 11th in Thailand, fourth in India and, perhaps more importantly, fifth here last year.

Tip: Kazuki Higa to win outright @ 35/1 with bet365

Golf betting tips: LIV Adelaide

The breakaway LIV Tour makes its debut in Australia this week and home hero Cameron Smith is 10/1 joint-favourite to take the big prize.

Brooks Koepka joins him at the head of affairs following his win at LIV Orlando and his joint-second at the Masters, while Phil Mickelson, who shot a final-round 65 at Augusta, is available at 55/1.

Uihlein looks one to watch

A few of the LIV players produced good performances at Augusta, but one player to keep an eye on this week is Peter Uihlein, who has been one of the most consistent players on the new circuit.

He was second in both Jeddah and Chicago towards the end of last season and has built on that in the new campaign with second at Mayakoba, 10th at Tucson and eighth at Orlando, so that first LIV victory may not be far away.

Tip: Peter Uihlein to win outright @ 22/1 with bet365

Steele making an early impression

Three-time PGA Tour winner Brendan Steele made the switch after missing the cut at the Phoenix Open and he has found some form in the new format.

He was 37th at Orlando last time, finishing strongly with a 67 in his third round, and he should have taken plenty of confidence from his fifth spot at Mayakoba and his tie for second in Tucson.

Tip: Brendan Steele to win outright @ 28/1 with bet365
