Grading college football coaching hires 2022-'23: Matt Rhule named Nebraska head coach

The college football coaching carousel is moving fast. The best available jobs in college Football are the Auburn Tigers and Arizona State Sun Devils. The biggest Power 5 programs create vacancies at other programs by hiring their head coach and key staff members.

Matt Rhule was fired by Carolina Panthers. Rhules is a college football coach with a 47-43 record. He was hired by the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Rhul excels at building up mid-tier programs into consistent winners. His record at Temple and Baylor shows he can do that. The Cornhhusker's need to become relevant again.

Jim Leonhard will become the next head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers. Paul Chryst was fired in October. Leonard was the interim coach this season. Wisconsin is closing to naming Leon hard as the full-time head Coach for the 2023 season, but he needs to build a modern staff and more resources toward recruiting.  Matt Rhule was named the new head football coach at Nebraska.

Charlotte 49ers hired Biff Poggi as their new head coach. He has limited college coaching experience. Poggi was an analyst at Michigan and an assistant at Saint Frances Academy High School. Healy was fired after a disappointing season at Austin Peay. Charlotte is betting on him. It's a risky bet. However, it could pay off if he turns out to be a good replacement for Sean McVay, who was a trusted assistant before he landed his own job.

Biff has been a tremendous asset to the University of Michigan Football program. He has a great football mind and is a coach that aims to change the lives of his players in a positive way.

Matt Rhule was named the new head coach at Texas A&M.
