Hawks vs. Pelicans prediction and odds for Tuesday, February 7

The New Orleans Pelicans are in the middle of a really rough patch, losing eight of their last 10 games to fall into the No. 9 spot in the Western Conference, but they may be turning things around.

With Brandon Ingram back in the lineup and getting his legs under him, the Pels have won back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings. That’s a positive sign heading into a home matchup with the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.

Atlanta has underachieved so far this season after trading for Dejounte Murray in the offseason. Part of that has to do with Trae Young’s efficiency dropping, but the Hawks haven’t been able to put things together as a team, ranking 22nd in the NBA in net rating.

New Orleans should have Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas available tonight (both listed as probable), but it is set as a slight favorite in this game.

How should we bet on the Hawks-Pelicans matchup?

Hawks vs. Pelicans prediction and pick

Even though the Pelicans have really taken a step back as of late, I’m leaning with them to win this game.

New Orleans has remained an elite team at home, going 19-9 this season, despite the recent skid since Zion Williamson went down with an injury.

The Hawks, on the other hand, are 14-16 on the road in the 2022-23 campaign.

New Orleans’ offense has really started to find a rhythm in the last two games, scoring over 130 points in each of them.

Part of that is due to the return of Ingram, who is starting to shoot the ball much better than he did in his first few games back.

All season long, Atlanta has been the definition of an average team, hence the No. 22 net rating. I’ll lean with New Orleans to pick up a third straight win on Tuesday.
