Heat vs Knicks Prediction

The Miami Heat and the New York Knicks collide in Game 2 at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.

The Miami Heat will be aiming to take a commanding 2-0 series lead after taking down the Knicks in a thrilling 108-101 comeback win in Game 1 on Sunday. Jimmy Butler led the team with 25 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals, Gabe Vincent added 20 points with five assists while Kyle Lowry chipped in with 18 points and six assists off the bench. As a team, the Heat shot just 42 percent from the field and 13 of 39 from the 3-point line as they got off to a slow start and fell behind by 12 points early on, before they clamped down defensively and held the Knicks to just 20 points in the third quarter to take over and earn the crucial road win.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks will be kicking themselves after letting go of home-court advantage in the first game of the series. RJ Barrett led the team with a game-high 26 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, Jalen Brunson added 25 points with seven assists while Obi Toppin chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Knicks shot 47 percent from the field and just seven of 34 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 32 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, but they got next to no support from their bench which came back to bite them in the second half where the Heat started to pull away.

Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a win and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The Knicks are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 home games, 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall, the Heat are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Heat are 12-5 ATS in the last 17 meetings in New York.

The Heat will be delighted with the win in the series opener, but it did come at a cost as Jimmy Butler sprained his ankle and is listed as questionable for Game 2, while the Knicks are keeping eyes on Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle who are both questionable. This is certainly a game where you want to double check the lineups before tipoff as both teams could be missing key players, but the Heat are 12-5 ATS in the last 17 meetings in New York and I think they get the job done in this spot.
