Mazu won the Arrowfield 3-Y-S in the feature race running double. In The Congo came second. Paulele was the best of the others. Mazu bet $10,000 on $2.70 multiple times.
El Patroness caused a boilover in the Oaks at $26 on TAB Fixed Odds. Honeycreeper had support all week after opening at$6 but blew out late. Gypsy Goddess ($4.60-$4) and Hinged ($3.80 fav) were the two they came for late and they overtook Honey creepper for favouritism.
Knight's Order won the Sydney Cup (3200 metres) at $8.50. Stockman was $5 favourite in the morning and went out to $ 8. Crystal Pegasus ($6. 50) was solid for most of the day and jumped favourite. Sheraz ($11) hovered around the $10-$11 mark most the time.
Think It Over was the least favoured runner in the feature of the day – the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000 metres). Verry Elleegant was one of most popular horses all day. Nicalee didn't have a great deal of admirers heading into the QT Turf Stake (1600 metres) Colette blew late in betting but still went around with nearly three times as much money as punters’ pal Icebath ($6-$5.50).
