Respected value hunting tipster Laurie Sainsbury says Windstorm can overcome almost a three year absence from the races and make his mark in the Bletchingly Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.

Here are this week's tips.

AMIGO (Caulfield Race 1 No 6) Had his first start in a Blue Diamond Prelude back in February and was respectable running fifth behind Barber. He was held up from the 400m to the 200m and when in the clear ran home in 11.68 for the last 200m, Little Brose the runner-up ran the best split of the race, 11.66, and he went on to win the Blue Diamond. Amigo resumed here four weeks ago, was a drifter $3.80 out to $5.50, when unplaced behind Outback Miss, running home in the same split for the last 200m as the winner when also copping interference at the 150m. He has since run second in a jumpout with the blinkers on and they stay on here. Gangitano won the jumpout at Pakenham I was referring to and I do give him a good chance here. He was third in a Merson Cooper to Little Brose. BET: EACH-WAY

IMPENDING SHADOW (Caulfield Race 5 No 16) I was with her last start after a luckless run here prior. Damian Oliver went on last time and she raced in restricted room from just after straightening until the 180m. The winner Our Red Morning is highly regarded by the Greg Eurell stable and the margin of three lengths was unfair given her run in transit. Damian Oliver rides again and the experience gained from that first ride on her should see him give her every opportunity despite another wide gate. BET: EACH-WAY

BONNY EZRA (Rosehill 8 Race No 4) He resumed at Randwick in the Listed Civic Stakes over 1400m and was beaten less than a length into fourth place. They ran the time of 1.22.79 for the distance on a soft (5) and he ran home the best last 200m (11.69) and the best last 600m (33.84) of the race. Ucalledit won the race and he franked the form winning again next start. He steps up to 1500m here and second-up he is (6:2-0-1), he can perform on all going and was scratched from Flemington last week. I will be including Longvillers in exotics, no luck last start when held up and had plenty to offer although I would prefer him over slightly longer. BET: EACH-WAY

WINDSTORM (Caulfield Race 8 No 8) These colours have had success of late with John Leek (Jnr). This race looks open as Ingratiating and General Beau, the favourites appear to struggle at the 1200m, no wins from either in a combined 14 starts. Windstorm had a jumpout at Pakenham over 1200m and won with plenty in hand although the opposition was only average. In that jumpout he had the nose roll on and blinkers off, that's the gear change here. He's (3:2-1-0) first-up, (4:3-1-0) at the distance and has won two of his four starts here at Caulfield and can handle good and soft going. BET: EACH-WAY
