NEXT BEST

Race 5 No.2: CLOUDLAND

The gelding defeated the in-form Shadows Of Love first-up at this track before a close second last start. Loves the wet also.

VALUE BET

Backing-up off a solid fourth in the Midway at Kembla last week. All six career wins have come on wet ground.

Race 6: 1, 2, 4, 5

Race 7: 3, 4, 6, 12

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW

Nash Rawiller has some nice rides and looks a good chance in the TAB Jockey Challenge.

MUDGEE

BEST BET

Race 6 No.2: SEGUSO

The gelding kicked off his prep with back-to-back wins before a seventh in the Barn Dance. Has since trialled well and drawn ideally.

VALUE BET

Race 3 No.10: FIELD OF MYRTLE

Broke through for her maiden win at Orange after some handy runs at the provincials. Good chance again from the inside gate.

INSIDE MAIL: KENSINGTON

RACE 1

Miss Emma kicked off her campaign with a three-quarter-length second behind Runwiththetide over 1100m here on Nov 1 and followed with a handy third to Power Ballard at Canterbury on Nov 17. Looks like she will appreciate going up to 1300m. Denotes was good on debut when a half-length second to Utopian Wine over 1200m at Eagle Farm on June 28 before a half neck third to Give Him Wings over 1350m at Doomben. Exceed The Sky is improving with each run. Was just under a length off La Seule at her first go over 1300m at Kembla on Nov 18.

Bet: Miss Emma to win

RACE 2

Zouphoria won her three trials this preparation before resuming with a three-quarter-length second to Power Ballard at Canterbury on Nov 17. Drawn out but can go one better. Duke Of Lancaster was slow away before working home down the outside when third to Escutcheon at Kembla on debut back on Oct 28 before a second to Rockola at Warwick Farm last week. Will be closing strongly again and will give this a shake. Determination sat midfield and worked to the line reasonably despite laying in for a two length fifth to Jagjit at Canterbury on Nov 17. Will be better for the experience and gets the rail to guide her.

Bet: Zouphoria to win

RACE 3

Irish Kisses followed a smart win at Warwick Farm with a length second to Hollywood Hero in the Coonamble Cup. That got her into the Little Dance where she was checked near the 250m and she should have finished much closer than fourth last behind Spangler. She drifted back to near last before working home well for third to Toesonthenose at Newcastle’s stand-alone meeting on Nov 18. Brynner followed some handy runs with an overdue win over 1900m at Canterbury last start. Likes soft ground. Ruban Bleu came from the second half of the field and worked home fairly in the Little Dance last start. Racing like he will handle the step up to 1800m.

Bet: Irish Kisses to win

RACE 4

Zouprince started $10 first-up and sat outside the leader Fleetwood and race favourite Fleetwood before running him to a neck at Rosehill on Nov 15. He is one from one second-up and has a win and a second from two starts on soft ground. Hard to beat. Treize debuted with a third to Sir Kerm at Newcastle in September last year before a spell and kicked off her second prep with a second to Oriental Tycoon at Warwick Farm before winning second-up at Kembla. Led and caught late by multiple city winner Iowna Merc in her Randwick trial on Nov 20. Celestial Spirit also kicks off her campaign here and does have a solid fresh record. Has trialled nicely.

Bet: Zouprince to win

RACE 5

Cloudland travelled beautifully behind the leader and just needed a gap which he got on straightening and he proved too good for the in-form Shadows Of Love when resuming over 1250m here on Oct 25. Led and was just caught by Step Aside second-up at Rosehill three weeks later. Drawn ideally to bounce back and loves the sting out of the ground. Louisville kicked off his preparation with a handy win over Look Only at Canterbury two weeks ago. Placed second-up previously and his three goes at this distance. Charlemagne closed off strongly for a close third to Louisville when resuming. Another who has a good second-up record and likes it wet.

Bet: Cloudland to win

RACE 6

Bowrey Breeze was doing her best work late when beaten 2½ lengths by Shadows Of Love in a Midway at Rosehill first-up on Nov 11 before a somewhat unlucky fourth to Victory Lane at Kembla last weekend when held up until her 200m. Loves it wet and can show up. Molly Nails had to come very wide on the bend and ran on well to finish a two-length second behind the in-form Miss Hades over 1500m at Rosehill on Nov 15. Drawn to get a better run. Miss Faberge won well first-up before working home steadily when fifth to Step Aside last start. Drawn to settle closer.

Bet: Bowrey Breeze each-way

RACE 7

Former Mark Newnham-trained gelding Cool Jakey resumes for his second campaign with new trainer Joe Pride. Scored a nice win from Pereille over 1200m on a heavy track on debut two starts later was a close third to The Heir at this track. Rawn well and looks hard to beat. Shohei raced outside the leader and just peaked on her run 150m out when fifth to Salisano first-up at Rosehill on Nov 4. Scratched from Kembla last week and has a wide gate here so no guarantee she runs but will give this a shake if she does. Master Showman and Walkin’talkin are both coming off handy runs and won’t be far away.
