After picking out a 7/2 winner in Wednesday's column, we are back to take a look at Thursday's action and pick out some of the most eye-catching naps from our racing naps table. There are four horse racing fixtures taking place today and it all gets under way at Southwell at 12:25, while there's alternative racing at Wetherby, Gowran Park and Newcastle...

One of the premier handicap chases of the season takes place at Gowran Park at 14:50 with the hugely competitive Thyestes Handicap Chase attracting a stellar line-up, and it's unsurprising that a host of tipsters have tried to unearth the winner of the event. Often a leading trial for the Grand National at Aintree, the first eye-catching selectionis from Paul Kealy from The Weekender, who has napped the Willie Mullins-trained favourite Carefully Selected, who is a 6/1 chance, at the time of writing. Unplaced at Leopardstown at Christmas, this Closutton inmate is a class act on his day, but will need to improve on that effort to figure here.

Fortunatus from the Sheffield Star has edged towards Espanito Bello, who is hovering around the 8/1 mark and Barry Connell's charge is sure to strip fitter for a spin over hurdles last time out, and he marks notable interest, while the likes of Pencilfulloflead, Frontal Assault and Darrens Hope have all been napped for what should be an absolute corking contest.

While possible Turners Novices' Chase contender Sir Gerhard makes his chasing debut at Gowran Park at 15:25, he's too short at 1/7 to be napped, but one final selection that catches the eye at the Irish venue comes from Lawrence Taylor of At The Races, who has napped Bluebell Diva in the 15:55 event. Available at 9/2, at the time of writing, the Mouse Morris-trained raider was a winner two starts ago, so will be looking to replicate that today.

William Haggas and Tom Marquand team up at Southwell on Thursday afternoon and that pair will join up in the 13:35 contest, as they saddle the 11/10 favourite Mohatu, who has proven the joint most popular nap of the day. Napped by three tipsters - including the likes of Marlborough from the Daily Telegraph and Steve Mullington from 888Sport, Mohatu has been in terrific form notching up a win and a second placed finish and will look to continue that run today and claim a second win in three outings.

Staying at Southwell, the David Simcock-trained Tiger Crusade is an 11/4 chance for the 14:10 contest and is another horse that has been napped by three tipsters including Spotlight from the Racing Post and that contender was a winner at the track last time out, but will need to defy a 3lbs rise in the handicap, so will face a tougher test.

Current naps table leader Postdata from the Racing Post heads to Newcastle's 17:00 for the best bet of the day, and has put up Attrazione, who was a winner at Southwell two runs ago and is looking to bounce back to winning ways in what looks a competitive race on paper.
