Ilya Samsonov’s ‘Mission’ as Maple Leafs’ Starter Continues vs. Coyotes, Odds, Where to Watch

Ilya Samsonov signed a one-year, $1.8 million contract with Toronto Maple Leafs. He was drafted by Washington Capitals in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft. Matt Murray was injured and had to be replaced by Samsonova. He made 26 saves on 28 shots in a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators. His practice on Sunday was his first as the starter. Sheldon Keefe wanted to make sure Samsonovo was still smiling. Samsonovan played in five playoff games for the Capitals this spring. The 25-years-old is the lone Russian in NHL.

Ilya Samsonov is the Maple Leafs' starter. William Nylander is not feeling well, so he's out for a maintenance day. Nick Robertson will play on the left wing with John Tavares and Denis Malgin.

The Maple Leafs are an overwhelming favorite with the moneyline set at -500.
