JJ McCarthy Moving Up Heisman Odds Boards At Michigan Sportsbooks

DraftKings Sportsbook MI has moved the line in the primetime matchup between Michigan State and Washington. The game is known more for the launch of the J.J. McCarthy era and whether the Wolverines want to cover that number and/or ensure the total goes over 60. Michigan is the fourth-ranked team and hosts Connecticut. Washington is 11th and is underdogs.

Johnny Avello, director of race and sportsbook operations for DraftKings, thinks Michigan State will generate more handle this week. He thinks the team has been playing easy games against Colorado State, Hawaii and Connecticut.

Michigan built a 42-0 halftime lead against Hawaii and won 56-10. JJ McCarthy played 11-of-12 for 229 yards and three touchdowns. DraftKings made McCarthy its seventh pick, at +3000, to capture the Heisman.

Avello believes Michigan's quarterback can win the Heisman if he can get noticed. Bryce Young is the defending winner. Caleb Williams of USC has also come on.

Michigan State is an underdog in primetime ABC matchup at Washington. DraftKings can establish prop betting for college football in Michigan. The first bettors let the books know whether the line is in the right spot.

Washington is favored to beat Michigan State at 3.5 points.

Avello's book put Michigan State -1 on the board. The early action is all on Washington.

In college football, there's a good chance that a star player may score two or three times. Avello wants to place more props and they're working on doing that.
