Juraj Slafkovsky’s debut at Canadiens’ rookie tournament left everyone impressed except him

Juraj Slafkovsky was drafted by Montreal as the No. 1 pick. He is training with the team's other prospects at the Brossard practice facility. Arber Xhekaj was undrafted into the NHL, but he impressed enough in training camp last year to earn an NHL contract. Slfkovski and Xhkekaja are about the same weight, 238 pounds. They are playing in the rookie tournament in Western New York. Slifkovskys is the one player at this tournament who has a realistic ambition to play in NHL. X hkej has his own pressure, that of an underdog trying to make the NFL.

Slafkovsky is a prospect playing in a rookie tournament. He tried to do too much in the first game. The opposing coach was impressed with his performance. He will try to play more tomorrow. Slafovksy has high standards for himself. His coach Jean-François Houle was generally happy with him. In the second period, he tried attacking the Sabres. Zach Berzolla, a 6-foot-2 and 200-pound defenceman, hit him with everything. It didn't work. After the game, Slovakia wasn't happy. However, after an impressive opening day of development camp in July, the coach wasn’t happy either.
