The Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals meet Wednesday in MLB action from Kauffman Stadium. This will be the final matchup in a three-game series this week. Chicago White Sox

The White Sox couldn’t get anything going on just three team hits in the Monday opener of this series. Chicago’s lone run came from Lenyn Sosa, who had one hit. In the Tuesday matchup, the Sox were up 6-0 at one point but couldn’t hang on in a disappointing 7-6 defeat. Yoan Moncada, Andrew Vaughn and Korey Lee each had home runs in the loss.

In the starter role for the Sox on Wednesday it’ll be Touki Toussaint. This year in his 15 games (11 starts) Toussaint is 2-7 with a 4.87 ERA and 64 Ks in 64.2 innings. Toussaint is 2-4 with a 5.61 ERA over his last seven starts.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going to try the Sox here. You could make a case either way, though. Toussaint hasn’t been too bad over his last two starts, posting a 1-1 record with 10.1 innings, three earned, seven hits and five walks. As for Lyles, he’s coming off two earned in 8.0 innings during a win over Boston, but he had a couple of rocky outings prior to that. On Tuesday Chicago really only had the one big inning on offense but still should have won. If Toussaint can get through a quality start, the Sox should be set up well. Chicago has scored more than two runs just once in the last five games though, so the offense is going to have to come along for the ride.
