Knicks vs. Heat prediction, spread and over/under for Friday

Asbury Park

The New York Knicks (37-27, 3rd in Atlantic) have won seven straight as they head to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat (33-30, 1st in Southeast) at 8 p.m. on Friday night.

New York put together its best offensive performance of the year as it scored 142 points, a season-high, in a 142-118 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.

The Heat have struggled recently as they've lost five of their last six games.

Here are my picks and predictions between these two Eastern Conference opponents with odds powered by Tipico Sportsbook.

Knicks at Heat Spread: Knicks -3.5 (-110)

The Knicks have covered the spread in six of seven games during this winning streak and have won by four or more in nine straight victories. New York has covered in 20 of 30 road games this season.

Miami is a woeful 9-20-1 against the spread (ATS) at home this year and are 3-12 ATS in their previous 15 matchups when their opponent scored 100 or more points in the prior game.

It's tough to lay points against another playoff team on the road but with the way these two teams have been playing as of late don't hesitate to bet on the Knicks to win by four or more tonight.

Knicks at Heat total: Over 215.5 points (-115)

Even with the lowest total in the Association tonight, it was tempting to bet on 215 or fewer points scored tonight. Miami has the lowest scoring offense in the NBA and have gone under this total in 11 of their last 17 games.

However, New York is 7-1-1 to the over in its past nine versus a team with a winning straight up record and in seven of its prior eight overall.

I don't think it'll be a high-scoring affair but wager on this total to go slightly over this line of 215.5.

Knicks at Heat Moneyline: Knicks (-155)

It'll be nearly impossible for the Knicks to play as well as they did on Wednesday night when they made 20 three-pointers and shot 60 percent from the field. Even with their struggles, the Heat have surrendered only 120 or more points in two of their previous 10 games.

I believe this will be a defensive battle between two of the best defenses in the NBA with New York pushing its win streak to eight games.

My Best Bets

Place a wager on the Knicks moneyline (-155), to cover the -3.5 spread (-110) and the over 215.5 points scored at -115 on Tipico Sportsbook.
