KU women's basketball picked to finish 5th in Big 12 in preseason coaches poll
The Kansas women's basketball team was picked to finish fifth in the Big 12 Conference in a preseason poll. It's the highest ranking for the program since it was chosen to be fourth in 2012. Last year, the Jayhawks were picked last in this year's poll, but they blew that prediction out of the water and reached the NCAA Tournament. Iowa State received four first-place votes, Texas received two, with Oklahoma and Baylor finishing in third and fourth place respectively. KU finished fifth behind that group, followed by Kansas State, Kansas Tech, West Virginia, Oklahoma State and TCU. The Jayhawk's first home game is on January 4 against Texas Tech.
