Lakers vs. Clippers NBA Player Props, Odds: Picks & Predictions for Tuesday

sportsbookreview.com

Our Lakers vs. Clippers NBA player props based on the best NBA odds expect the host Clippers to dominate the crosstown rival Lakers on Tuesday night.

After a rocky start to the James Harden era, the Los Angeles Clippers have won eight of their last 10 to establish themselves as clear NBA Finals odds contenders ahead of Tuesday's clash with the crosstown Lakers.

The Clippers own a 27-14 record entering Tuesday's matchup with the "visiting" Lakers, including an 18-4 record at home. Meanwhile, the other Los Angeles squad has underperformed after a run to the Western Conference Finals, posting a 22-22 record to sit ninth in the conference with an active trade deadline expected for Darvin Ham's group.

Given that Lebron James is unavailable for the Lakers, the outcome of Tuesday's game seems less uncertain. However, what player props should be considered in a potentially one-sided matchup between rivals?

To go along with our Knicks vs. Nets player props, here are our best Lakers vs. Clippers NBA player props and NBA picks (odds via ourbest NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Lakers vs. Clippers props

James Harden Under 3.5 first-quarter points (-150 via bet365)⭐⭐⭐⭐

Typically, I try to look for ways to fade the Lakers in the first quarter. Los Angeles ranks 29th in net rating in the first quarter, which is why we see the home team listed as a 3-point favorite in the opening period when the full-game line is listed at 9.5.

But that does mean certain first-quarter props might also be a bit inflated, which is why we have our sights set on James Harden. His points prop is trading at 3.5, despite him averaging just 1.2 first-quarter points over the last five games. More importantly, he's averaging just 6.5 minutes over that span, with Russell Westbrook earning more playing time in the first period of late.

Harden's assists prop has been steamed on Tuesday morning, climbing up to as high as 9.5 at FanDuel. If the market believes he will be more of a facilitator in this one, we certainly won't pass up the opportunity to bet against points, especially since Harden has only cleared this line in 13 of his 36 games this season. At -150 or better, the Under is the play for us.

Anthony Davis Under 4.5 assists (-130 via DraftKings)⭐⭐⭐⭐

With James out of the lineup, the Lakers will run their offense through Davis. In some ways they already have been, as Davis is averaging 24.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He has cleared this assists prop in four of his last five games.

But do you know who also knows that? Both the market and the Clippers. For one, Davis usually has an assist prop of 3.5, illustrating the bump based on his recent play. The Clippers, who rank 14th in defensive rating, will also be able to turn all of their attention on Davis in this game.

This same Under is being priced at -170 via Pinnacle, which features one of the sharper trading teams in the betting industry. FanDuel has moved its price on the Under from -115 to -146 since lines were released. Take advantage of this discount at DraftKings before tipoff.

D'Angelo Russell Under 19.5 points (-115 via DraftKings)⭐⭐⭐

Similar to the Davis prop, you are paying a premium to bet on D'Angelo Russell based on his recent form and James being out. Russell scored 34 points last time out, marking his third consecutive game with at least 20 points. And while he continues to play like this, his name is being thrown around in every potential Lakers trade.

At some point, we are due for a regression game from Russell, who normally has a points prop a couple of points lower than this. He's averaging 16.3 points per game on the year and has cleared this exact scoring line in only 11 of his 40 games.

I can't promise you that regression will hit Russell on Tuesday, but the market has adjusted too much. Pinnacle has priced this same Under at -138, so we will run to the window to take this -115 value at DraftKings in a potential blowout.
