Las Vegas Grand Prix Betting Odds: Max Verstappen A -350 Favorite

For the first time in 41 years, Formula 1 will host a championship race under the bright lights of Las Vegas – and it promises to be unlike any we’ve ever seen.

The first-ever Las Vegas Grand Prix, which will take place at 10 p.m. local time / 1 a.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 18, will cut directly through the Las Vegas Strip for 50 laps of high-speed action in the penultimate race of this year’s F1 Drivers Championship.

Drivers are expected to reach top speeds exceeding 212 mph on the 3.8-mile circuit, which would make it one of the fastest tracks in the world.

Las Vegas Grand Prix Course

While F1 officials have done their best to hide the course itself from the public in the weeks before the race, we do know a few key details about the all-new circuit, which cost $500 million to develop ahead of this month’s Grand Prix.

In typical Las Vegas fashion, it features no shortage of glitz and glamour with the potential to be the fastest track on the F1 circuit.

The course itself extends 3.8 miles with three main straights and 17 turns, weaving through the heart of Las Vegas and past iconic casino gambling landmarks like Caesars Palace, the Bellagio and the Venetian.

The track also winds around the 366-foot tall Sphere between turns 5 and 10. A straightaway out of turn 9 could see drivers reaching top speeds of 212 mph, rivaling Italy’s Monza Circuit (225 mph) as the fastest course in the world.

The race is expected to draw over 100,000 fans. It will be the first Grand Prix not held on a Sunday since 1985, which speaks to the unique nature of this event. It will also be the first night race of the three U.S. championships this year.

Who is Favored to Win the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix?

Max Verstappen is the heavy favorite at -350 odds to win this race.

The three-time world champion already clinched this year’s F1 world title with six races to go, having won 16 of the first 19 races of the 2023 campaign. That broke his own record for wins in a season (15), a mark he’ll likely extend before the end of this year’s 22-race calendar.

He’s already won the first four races held in North America, including both races in the U.S. He claimed a record 10 straight victories earlier this season before his historic run ended in Singapore on Sept. 17.

Meanwhile, Red Bull Racing is still chasing the record of 19 wins in a single campaign. Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez claimed 18 of the first 19 races for Red Bull entering this month and have three more chances to tie or break the record.

A bet against Verstappen here is essentially banking on a mechanical failure or a significant mistake from him. As we’ve seen this season, both are rare, but anything can happen in Sin City.
