Lorenz Larkin vs Andrey Koreshkov

Location of the fight: Saitama Super Arena, Saitama, Japan.

Date and Time: Saturday, July 29, 2023. 11 PM ET main card start.

How to Watch: Showtime

Larkin is coming off an impressive KO victory over Mukhamed Berkhamov in February of this year.

Koreshkov is making his return to Bellator since last fighting in the promotion in February of 2022, where he had a spectacular first-round TKO win over Chance Rencountre.

Larkin is a 36-year-old MMA veteran that has had tenures in the UFC and Strikeforce, with a professional MMA record of 25-7 with 13 KOs. After joining the Bellator promotion, he dropped his first two fights and now has been unbeaten in eight straight bouts.

He’s a switch style striker with a lot of power in his hands and handles his business on the ground with a purple belt in BJJ.

Koreshkov is a Russian mixed martial artist with a professional MMA record of 26-4 with 18 finishes (14 KO and four SUB) under his belt.

He is the former Bellator Welterweight World Champion back in 2015, where he beat Douglas Lima. He successfully defended that belt against Benson Henderson, only to lose it in a rematch with Lima.

No injuries have been reported to Bellator MMA or Rizin in this bout.

Before getting to the Larkin vs Koreshkov prediction, we have to preview the available betting lines and how this fight might play out on both sides. First of all, these two fought back in 2019 when Larkin won a very close split decision.

The betting odds say that Loreshkov is the slight betting favorite at -150 over the +115 Larkin. The over 2.5 rounds total is favored at -130 as well. Interestingly, you can get this fight going the distance at +105–which kind of contradicts the over/under lines.

From a technical point of view, the clear advantage goes to Koreshkov in this fight. After losing a very close split decision four years ago, he seemingly has gotten better as well. Also, the RIZIN rules will be more in his favor as he has fought in a variety of combat sports overseas compared to Larkin.

Larkin’s advantage is his power and striking ability. He has the chance to catch Koreshkov with big shots and really sway the fight quickly at any moment.

After breaking down this massive event on the MMA schedule, this has the potential to be fight-of-the-night in Saitama, Japan.

The official Larkin vs Koreshkov prediction is that Koreshkov will get his hand raised in front of the packed Japanese crowd. He simply has more ways to victory than Larkin and has a larger combat skillset.

Russian fighters are very prideful in competitions as well, and that extra focus to get back his loss to Larkin will be there all night, along with the weeks leading up to this bout.
