Maine horse people raise funds for retired Standardbreds

Maine horse people raised $3,000 for Futures For Standardbreds. They presented the money on Monday's (Dec. 27) final day of harness racing at First Tracks Cumberland. The project started as a bottle drive during the spring racing season. It was organized by Mary Beth Ranger and Craig Coffin. They collected bottles and cans from the paddock and collected them in the community. Craig provided and cleaned the saddle pads for each race card. He also hauled the bottles. FFS was selected as the beneficiary.   The group collected large parcels of recyclables for the group.
