Major League Baseball's new-look Wild Card Series exceeded expectations

The new-look Major League Baseball's Wild Card Series was successful. The Guardians won the series against Tampa Bay. Oscar Gonzalez hit a walk-off home run in the 15th inning. They will play the Yankees in New York on Tuesday.  

Seattle Mariners beat Toronto Blue Jays 8-1 to advance to the ALDS. Seattle will play Houston in the next round. George Springer collided with Bo Bichette and was carted off the field. He was injured. The collision was a tragic moment for the Blue Jay's.

Philadelphia Phillies beat the St. Louis Cardinals in the Wild Card Game. The team is now in NLDS against Atlanta. Houston is the favorite. Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado didn't play well. Aaron Nola was impressive for the Phillies.

The New York Mets were beaten by the San Diego Padres in the Wild Card Series. The Padres will play the Dodgers in Los Angeles. The Dodgers finished 14-5 against San Francisco this season. They won 111 games. Braves beat the Mets in a four-game series. It's going to be a long winter for Mets fans.
