Man City vs. Sevilla Odds, Predictions & Betting Tips

Live on TNT Sports 1, Man City go up against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup final at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Greece on Wednesday. Here at BettingOdds.com we’ve previewed the action and provided you with our two best bets courtesy of Tipster Wizard.

Pep Guardiola’s side booked their place in the Super Cup thanks to a historic season as they clinched the Champions League for the first time in their history as well as winning the Premier League and the FA Cup.

The Citizens started their season in dominating fashion, dismantling Burnley 3-0 away from home and will come into this game full of confidence.

As for Sevilla, they booked their place in the Super Cup after winning the Europa League last season, a competition they have had incredible success in over the years.

They’ve had a disappointing start to the new campaign as they lost their opening game of the season at home to Valencia courtesy of a late 88th minute goal, but their solid European record means they are not a side to be taken lightly.

This will be Manchester City’s maiden appearance in the Super Cup while Sevilla have already taken part in this competition six times due to winning the Europa League six times. However, out of the six times they have played this fixture, they have only managed to win once, which came against Barcelona. Since then they  have lost five finals in a row.

These two sides have played a total of four competitive fixtures and all four were won by the English side. While City certainly are the much stronger side on paper, Guardiola will be aware of the threat Sevilla possess in European competitions.

Team News:

Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias & Bernardo Silva are out for Man City while John Stones & Kyle Walker are doubtful.

Tanguy Nianzou is out for Sevilla. No other injuries/suspensions.

Youssef En Nesyri Over 0.5 shots & Under 4 goals

  • Youssef En Nesyri Over 0.5 shots
  • Under 4 goals

Youssef En Nesyri was averaging 3.25 shots per game for Sevilla in La Liga last season and is their main attacking threat in the final third. He registered four shots in their opening game of the season against Valencia and while I don’t expect Sevilla to register too many shots, Youssef En Nesyri will still be the target for every cross Sevilla put into the City box.

As for the goals, this is generally a low-scoring fixture with the last four Super Cup finals having gone under four goals, and a similar pattern could be expected here considering City will also be missing their most creative player in Kevin De Bruyne. Combining these two selections gives us a solid bet builder and I am happy to stake 1pt on that as our main bet for this game.

Youssef En Nesyri Over 1.5 shots & Under 3 goals

  • Youssef En Nesyri Over 1.5 shots
  • Under 3 goals

Following on from the main bet, I am taking higher lines for our second bet for this game and there is every chance we land a full house if historical patterns continue in this Super cup final too. This time I’m backing En Nesyri to clear the Over 1.5 shots lines, while I’m also reducing the goals to Under three in the match.

Just a small 0.25pt stake on this higher odds bet builder as our final bet for this game.
