Mets continue front-office overhaul

The New York Mets are making more changes.

Bryn Alderson is no longer an assistant general manager and is leaving the Mets, SNY’s Andy Martino reports.

Alderson joined the Mets in 2011 as a pro scout. He was named pro scouting director in 2019 and became assistant to the GM under former general manager Zack Scott in 2021.

Alderson’s dad, Sandy Alderson, is the outgoing Mets president.

The news comes after Billy Eppler recently hired Carlos Beltran as special assistant to the GM.

Beltran does have , working as special assistant to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman in 2019. That was the same year the Mets hired Beltran as manager, only to have to fire him amid the Houston Astrossign-stealing scandal.

Beltran was a nine-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove Award winner during his 20-year MLB career. He finished with 2,725 career base hits and two Silver Slugger Awards. He played for the Mets from 2005 to 2011 and theYankees from 2014 to 2016.
