Mexico Grand Prix F1 Odds: Can Checo win it for his home fans?

The conclusion of the 2022 Formula 1 season is fast approaching, but we still have three more races to go before then, the first of the final three races is the Mexico Grand Prix, where all eyes will be on Sergio Perez as he goes for his first victory in Mexico, but more importantly to him his home country.

Now that Max Verstappen has officially claimed the 2022 F1 title, one of the main storylines surrounding the Mexican Grand Prix will be whether or not he will go out of his way to help his Mexican-born Red Bull teammate claim the victory in front of his home crowd, a win that would surely mean the world to Perez.

Perez has made it clear that if he is going to win on Friday, he wants it to be on his accord. Perez doesn’t want Verstappen to “hand him any gifts”, as he’s adamantly stated.

This leads us to the question that’s on many Formula 1 fans’ minds, how likely is he to claim the victory this Sunday?

In order to find out, let’s take a look at the odds for this weekend’s Mexican Grand Prix, which we were able to find on the top online gambling sites.

The F1 Odds for Mexico are subject to change

As you can see from the odds listed above, Perez is tied with Leclerc of Ferrari as the second most likely to win the Mexican Grand Prix, behind the clear and obvious favorite Max Verstappen.

It’s worth noting that all of the top three favorites have more than enough individual motivation and incentive to win on Sunday.

Following his latest victory at the Circuit of the Americas, Verstappen is currently tied with Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel for the single-season record of the most wins, however, a victory in Mexico would see him be the sole record holder and cement his already amazing season as the best season for a single driver in the sport’s history.

For Leclerc, he is currently battling with Perez to end the season in the second overall position. Leclerc hasn’t won a race in last three months, so he should be extra hungry for this one.

And lastly, there is Sergio Perez, who will arguably want to win this race more than any other driver on the circuit, as he has yet to win a grand prix in his home country.

Last year he became the first Mexican F1 driver to claim a spot on the podium in Mexico, and he will be looking to improve upon that this weekend with a much-desired victory by jumping on to the top step of one of the most spectacular podium ceremonies. Time will tell.
