In the starter role for the Tuesday game the Dodgers are going with Clayton Kershaw. In his 20 starts this year Kershaw is 12-4 with a 2.48 ERA and 120 Ks in 112.1 innings total. Kershaw is 4-0 with a 1.50 ERA over his last seven starts.

It’ll be Jesus Luzardo in the starter role for the Marlins on Tuesday. Across his 27 starts so far Luzardo is 9-8 with a 3.62 ERA and 175 Ks in 149.1 innings. Luzardo is 1-3 with a 4.50 ERA and 44 Ks in his last seven starts.

I might take a stab on the Marlins in this one. Luzardo is playing well over his last two starts, going 1-0 with 12.0 innings, zero earned runs, three hits and three walks during that pair. As for Kershaw, he hasn’t had too much trouble lately himself. Kershaw is 2-0 in his last three starts with three earned in 12.0 innings total. If both guys are on point here, we could have a low-scoring game until the later innings. Miami is riding high after four straight wins over the weekend, and they scored six or more runs in each of those outings. If the Marlins can keep the bats going in some capacity I think they’ll be competitive in this one.
