Miami Marlins

In the Friday opener of this set, Miami was down 2-0 going into the sixth inning but fought back for a 3-2 win thanks in part to a two-run homer from Jesus Sanchez. In game two the Marlins gave up five runs in the second inning and never came back in an 8-4 loss. Garret Hampson posted three hits and a solo homer along the way.

Steven Okert will take the mound for the Marlins on Sunday. This year Okert is 3-1 with a 3.44 ERA and 65 Ks.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I might take a stab on the Phillies here. Suarez hasn’t had much luck in the win column lately, but he hasn’t been pitching too badly. In his last three starts combined, Suarez is 0-1 with six earned runs over 16.0 total innings. Thing is, Suarez was out for a couple weeks at the end of August with a hamstring strain so he hasn’t gotten that much work in lately. In the Saturday game two, Philadelphia got a great bullpen performance after Aaron Nola had some trouble in the fifth with four earned runs. Everything worked out though, and it was a nice outing for the offense as well. I like the Phillies to keep it up in the finale.
