Mississippi State and LSU will meet on Saturday, Sept. 17. The last time the two teams met, LSU won. This time, Mississippi State is two-point favorites.

Mississippi State is looking to repeat their success from last season. The Bulldogs have been dominant in the trenches and have several defensive standouts. LSU is in transition and has a lot of new players. They lost to Florida State in their first game of the season and are looking for their second win.  LSU is also running the football more than ever since Mike Leach has been with the program. It's a new team with a different head coach and a transfer quarterback. Louisiana State has some good pieces on defense but a shaky defensive line.

Mississippi State has won both of its games against LSU by double-digit margins. The Bulldogs have the edge in many areas. They have won over Memphis and Arizona.

Mississippi State has scored 88 points and given up 40 points in the first two games. LSU has also scored a total of 88 and surrendered 41 points. The over/under stands at 53 points, which is reasonable to take.

LSU has won all but three of the past 10 games between these teams. MSU is a team with a lot of upside and has the potential to put the nation on notice. The talent gap between LSU and MSUB is very large.
