MLB parlay picks April 29: Bet on red-hot Rays, fade Giants

Even though the Toronto Blue Jays play early, there are plenty of late afternoon and evening MLB games to consider for some parlay picks.

The pregame narrative: The Tampa Bay Rays have been baseball’s best team, and they’re playing against one of the absolute worst. We’re also fading the San Francisco Giants’ offence despite their hitter-friendly setting, and we think Anthony Rizzo will record at least one hit.

Find all our MLB parlay picks for April 29 below.

MLB parlay picks

Parlay: Rays ML + Giants under 6.5 runs + Rizzo over 0.5 hits (+451)

Rays moneyline (-139): The season series between the Rays and Chicago White Sox has been a decent summation of these teams’ seasons to this point.

Tampa is 5-0 in this matchup as part of a dazzling 22-5 record overall. Chicago is an abysmal 7-20 this season and is obviously still looking for its first victory over the Rays.

Dating back to a road series in South Florida last weekend, the White Sox have now lost nine games in a row. They’re in full spiral mode. Oh, and they’re 0-5 in starts made by tonight’s pitcher, Lance Lynn, who has a 7.52 ERA.

With all of that in mind, it doesn’t feel like too much of an ask to back the Rays on the moneyline at this price. Tampa has won four road games in a row and should make it five tonight.

Other parlay picks

Giants under 6.5 runs (+104): The San Diego Padres and Giants are opening a two-game Mexico Series set at Alfredo Harp Helu Stadium in Mexico City. The park is located more than 7,300 feet above sea level — roughly 2,000 feet above Coors Field — which makes it a hitter’s haven.

That’s why you see plus money on the under for a massive team total here. Now let’s tell you while we’re fading it.

Joe Musgrove has a dazzling track record against the Giants, posting a 1.07 ERA and 8.6 K/9 in his past five starts against them. And all five of those starts came last year.

In that span, he allowed just one home run. And if the Giants are going to topple this hefty run total, they’ll almost certainly need some long balls.

Rizzo over 0.5 hits (-177): We’ll cap this parlay with a player prop, asking Rizzo to record a hit against the Rangers.

Rizzo has recorded a hit in both games against Texas so far in this series, as well as in 21 of 26 games overall this year. He’s batted in the Nos. 2 and 3 spots exclusively, so his opportunities are always plentiful.

Also, Rizzo is 8-for-18 (.444) with four doubles and two HRs in his career against Eovaldi.
