Rays vs White Sox Prediction

The Chicago White Sox will host the Tampa Bay Rays for game two of their four-game set from  Guaranteed Rate Field. Tampa took game one in an onslaught, 14-5.

Rays Betting Preview

Tampa Bay comes in at 21-5 after defeating Chicago. The Rays picked up their sixth straight win in style, and they’ll look to inch closer to a sweep of the defending World Series champions here. The Tampa offense is scoring 6.52 runs per game, while batting .286, with a .358 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 2.79 ERA, with a 1.08 WHIP. Harold Ramirez has recorded multiple hits in five of the last seven games, and he’s among AL leaders in hitting at .371. Randy Arozarena doubled and tripled in the win over Houston, and he leads the Rays in RBI (24).

Zach Eflin (3-0, 2.81 ERA, 16 Ks) will take the bump for Tampa. The seventh-year righty returned from a short stint in DL in good form, tossing five full innings versus the White Sox, and earning his third straight winning decision.

White Sox Betting Preview

Chicago enters at 7-19 after losing to Tampa Bay. The White Sox have now dropped eight by straight games, and something has to change quick of they’ll find themselves out of it early. The Chicago offense is 4.72 scoring runs per game, while batting .235, with a .296 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 5.44 ERA, with a 1.56 WHIP. Andrew Benintendi has recorded multiple hits in four of the last seven games, and he leads the White Sox in hitting (.284), after recording a hit in nine of the last ten games. Andrew Vaughn is first on the team in RBI (14), and he’ll look to respond to a quiet series in Tampa this week.

Lucas Giolito (1-2, 4.50 ERA, 28 Ks) will get the call for Chicago. The eighth-year righty actually pitched well in his start in Tampa last week, striking out five over seven full innings, and if he can replicate that here with some run support, maybe the White Sox can turn the tide at home. Giolito cleared seven strikeouts in his prior two starts, so keep eye on him props wise.

Tampa Bay vs Chicago Trends

Tampa Bay is 17-8 against the spread this season, with a 12-11-2 O/U record. Chicago is 10-15 ATS this year, with a 12-11-1 over/under record.

Corey's Free Pick

Tampa Bay represents the best team in the league, while Chicago is struggling to simply get to the end of the first month. The differences of momentum here are very contrasty, and it’s just hard to justify trusting the Southside right now. Take Tampa’s ML here, and back it with the Over as both lineups are talented, despite the hosts lackluster play.
