MLB parlay picks

Parlay: Diamondbacks +1.5 + Athletics vs. Angels over 7.5 runs + Giants vs. Padres under 9.5 runs (+194)

Diamondbacks +1.5 (-275): Arizona is a good pick when Zac Gallen is on the mound.

The righty pairs an impressive 3.32 ERA with a 3.35 FIP while conceding a minuscule .384 slugging to opposing batters. He does an excellent job at limiting free passes as evidenced by his 90th-percentile walk rate per Baseball Savant.

The Diamondbacks are 16-12 when Gallen pitches, covering this in 18 of his 28 starts.

Baltimore counters with Jack Flaherty and his bad season hasn't gotten any better with the Orioles. He has a 6.41 ERA and a 4.68 FIP with his new team, losing each of his last three starts.

Unlike Gallen, he does struggle with control as he owns a 16th-percentile walk rate.

Other parlay picks

Athletics vs. Angels over 7.5 runs (-182): We trust neither pitcher in this matchup, which is why we're landing on the over.

Los Angeles sends Tyler Anderson to the mound and he's been untouchable for bettors. He has a 5.58 ERA and a 4.74 FIP this season and both those numbers were on the rise in August. Anderson finished the month with an 8.10 ERA and a 6.00 FIP in five starts.

The over on this total cashed in four of those games.

Oakland counters with Kyle Muller and his numbers are even worse. His 7.67 ERA and 6.09 FIP across 14 appearances are about as bad as it gets.

The over on this number has come through in six of his last eight outings.

Giants vs. Padres under 9.5 runs (-245): Lastly, we're teasing up the total and taking the under between these two squads.

The Giants and Padres have combined for nine runs or fewer in two of three games during this series. The starters for Sunday's contest suggest another low-scoring affair is on the way.

Alex Cobb takes the bump for San Francisco and he's been very good. He has a 3.57 ERA and a 3.81 FIP, and the under on this mark has hit in eight of his last 11 appearances.

Seth Lugo is pitching for San Diego and he has also been solid. His 3.67 ERA and 3.75 FIP are respectable numbers and both are dropping. He has only allowed four runs across his last four outings.

The Padres have gone below this game total in three of Lugo's last four starts.
