SOUTHERN VOYAGE is clearly entitled to sharpen up for the run on his first outing in 12 months but Chester should really suit this keen-going sort and he's drawn well in stall three for his comeback. Jockey David Nolan might have little choice but to go forward and pick up a prominent pitch from there as he doesn't look to have much pressure for early supremacy, barring a couple drawn much wider. If he's fit enough, the five-year-old could be able to pick up where he left off when winning from a 4lb lower mark at Newcastle last time out.

DREAM COMPOSER - 2.25 Doncaster

Dead progressive last season, DREAM COMPOSER looks to have raised the bar again this term, winning a nice pot at Sandown in July and back to something like that form when third at Ascot's Shergar Cup meeting last month. Having recorded his past three victories off marks of 91, 93 and 96, he remains competitively treated running off 95 and he won't mind a little juice in the ground either.

SANDRINE - 3.00 Doncaster

Spycatcher loves getting his toe into the ground and Audience lines up on the back of a new career-best at York but, right behind them on ratings, SANDRINE could be able to take advantage of the 3lb sex allowance. She won the Albany Stakes on heavy ground in her youth but basically acts on all types of terrain and she was staying on to finish just a head behind Audience in the City Of York last month. This slightly stiffer test will suit her and she looks a touch over-priced.

GREGORY - 3.35 Doncaster

Much has been made of the decision of Frankie Dettori to ride Arrest in this his last St Leger, but what a fantastic opportunity for Kieran Shoemark who comes in for the spare on stablemate GREGORY. This horse was made hot favourite for the final Classic following his Queen's Vase victory at Royal Ascot and he didn't perform at all badly in the circumstances when third to Continuous in the Sky Bet Great Voltigeur. Ridden inefficiently there, he was also carrying a 3lb weight penalty so should be seen to better effect back on level terms here. He still has massive potential and seems likely to cope whatever the ground is like by 3.35 on Saturday.
