Prediction for Heat vs Nuggets Game 5

If you hadn’t already bought into what the Denver Nuggets have been doing on this impressive playoff run, their road performances in Games 3 and 4 in Miami should have been enough to sell you.

Going into Miami in Game 3, this series had a bit of a different tambour to it. The Heat had picked up a big win to tie the series in Game 2 and the Nuggets lost their first game at home in the playoffs.

They had to pick themselves up, go into Miami for two games in a row and try to pick up at least one of them to hold serve.

Well, they did one better. They won them both.

Both Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray have been simply sensational throughout the playoffs and especially in the Finals, but Game 4 was the story of the ‘other guys.’

Aaron Gordon had his best game of the entire playoffs, with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.

Along with Gordon, Bruce Brown had a massive 4th quarter down the stretch, to bury the Heat and ensure that the Nuggets were now one win away from their ultimate goal.

Brown finished with 21 points, with 11 of those points coming in the crucial 4th quarter.

Game 4 was truly a team effort, with Jokic and Murray obviously leading the way, but without those ‘other guys’, this series might be tied at two games a piece.

Can the Heat rally to Force Game 6?

For Miami, they are surely disappointed that they couldn’t at least win one of their two home games to ensure this series at least would have a 6th and possibly 7th game.

But, they couldn’t get the job done and now have to flush the regret and focus in on a massive Game 5.

It is all on the line for the Heat and they will have to play a nearly perfect game in Game 5 to send this “back to the 305,” as Eric Spolstra said above.

Best Bet for Game 5

Well, the stage has been set. Here is the best bet you can take for this game.

I have taken the Heat the last two games on their spreads, which obviously didn’t go very well but I am going to go straight back again.

This is a scrappy team and there will certainly be no quit in their performance in Game 5. I have zero confidence they will win this game and force a Game 6. I lean heavily with the Nuggets getting the job done and lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy on Monday night.

But I love the Heat to cover the 9 points. Jimmy Butler and company did not make it this far, all the way from the play-in games to lose by 10+ in an elimination game. I just don’t see that happening.

The NBA fan and NBA bettor in me would LOVE for the Heat to win and force a Game 6. And I would not be surprised one bit if that happened.

But the spread is the best bet you can take here, for the value and the number.

Best Bet

Heat +9 (-110)

Best Player Prop for NBA Finals Game 5

Jimmy Butler o6.5 Assists (+108)

If you have read any of my NBA Finals pieces of far, first of all, thanks for stopping by

Second, you know that I have taken this prop in every game. And guess what? It has hit in three out of four of them.

Well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it and this certainly ain’t broke.

If the Heat want to stick around in this game and possibly send this series back to Miami for Game 6, Jimmy is going to have to do a bit of everything but most importantly, facilitate.

The other side of this is, if Jimmy does have 7+ assists, or even flirts with 10+, that means the Heat are knocking down their shots. Which would be even more good news for Miami.

Even with the poor shooting we saw from Miami in Game 4, Jimmy still bagged 7 assists. Butler has 7+ assists in 6 of his last 7 games against Denver and in a must win, season on the line game, I want to take the best player for the Heat to do what he does best.

Whatever it takes to win.

For plus money on this prop, this is my favorite play in the game.

Be great, Jimmy.

Bonus: Jimmy 8+ assists (+210)
