Newsboy’s horse racing tips for Wednesday’s meetings, including Nap at Lingfield

Newsboy expects his Nap, Sparked, to win at Lingfield and also fancies Sausalito to score on the same card and complete his Daily Double. It is also day two of the Punchestown Festival

SPARKED (7.55, nap) has a live chance of taking the Free Tips Daily On attheraces.com Handicap on Wednesday.

The four-year-old, trained by Jim Boyle, bounced back to form last week when beaten only a neck over this course and distance.

Always prominent, the son of Night Of Thunder kept on well inside the final furlong under Pat Cosgrave but could not quite overhaul Battle Point.

The winner is a decent yardstick as he has only twice been out of the first four in his last eight races – and one of those was a close-up fifth.

My selection runs off the same mark today and should be in the mix again.

Earlier on the card, SAUSALITO (5.10, nb) is fancied to continue his incredibly consistent form and land the Download The Bresbet App Handicap.

The Gary Moore-trained four-year-old has won five of his last seven races with a third place – beaten only by three-quarters of a length – and a short-head second last time out on this course over a mile and a half.

Despite going up 22lb during this run, my selection is still going strong and the drop back to a mile and a quarter – where he won three in a row in February and early March – can see him back in the winners' enclosure under rising star Billy Loughnane.

On day two of the Punchestown Festival, Willie Mullins is fancied to record a hat-trick of Grade 1 victories.

Cheltenham Gold Cup hero GALOPIN DES CHAMPS (5.55) is long odds-on to win the Ladbrokes Punchestown Gold Cup and should do so at the expense of Bravemansgame.

GAELIC WARRIOR can get back to winning ways in the Group 1 Irish Mirror Novice Hurdle, and the top-level Champion bumper may go the way of A DREAM TO SHARE (6.30).
