The Amazon Prime Thursday night schedule kicks off with the defending NFC champs hosting the Vikings. Each won at least 13 games last season, but their Week 2 Monday night matchup in Philly was all Eagles in a 24-7 romp.

Atlanta gets the advantage of opening with back-to-back home games while Jordan Love’s Packers will be on the road for the second straight Sunday after opening in Chicago. Green Bay, though, is a slight favorite.

It’s the home opener for Josh Allen and the Bills who own the league’s second-best home record (23-6) since the start of the 2020 season and are the largest lined favorite of the week. The north-of-a-touchdown spread also reflects it being a tough spot for the Silver and Black who are on the road for the second straight week after opening in the thin air of Denver.

Cincy is opening with back-to-back AFC North games so the status of QB Joe Burrow’s preseason calf injury will be of utmost importance. The Bengals have won four of the last five meetings in the series, including a 24-17 wild-card round win over the Lamar Jackson-less Ravens last January.

Seattle heads to the Motor City for the Lions’ home opener. It’s also a rematch of last season’s Week 4 game, won by the visiting Seahawk 48-45 in the highest-scoring game of the year and a result that played a vital role in Seattle making the playoffs and Detroit just missing out as both finished 9-8.

Justin Herbert and the Bolts are one of the largest road favorites of the week as they venture to the Music City for the Titans’ home opener.

On the subject of road favorites, how about Justin Fields and the 3-14 Bears of last season laying points in Tampa Bay’s home opener? That’s the sorry state of the Bucs in the Year 1 post-Tom Brady.

This is one of two Week 2 playoff rematches from 2022 and certainly one of the more intriguing contests on the slate as the Jaguars entertain Patrick Mahomes and the defending champs in their home opener. The Chiefs prevailed 27-20 in January’s divisional round matchup in K.C. — their seventh straight win in the series dating back through 2010.

It figures to be the dawn of a new AFC South QB rivalry here as Anthony Richardson and the Colts visit C.J. Stroud and the Texans in Houston’s home opener. Indy is 11-2-1 straight up in the last 13 meetings, but the Texans went 1-0-1 last season, infamously winning 32-31 in the regular season finale in Indy to knock themselves out of the top overall spot in the draft.

These two long-time NFC West rivals clash here in the Rams’ home opener and the second straight road game for the Niners. San Fran has dominated the series of late, winning and covering in eight of the last nine, but the lone L.A. win during the span was easily the biggest as the Rams prevailed 20-17 in the 2021 NFC Championship Game en route to their Super Bowl LVI triumph.

Visiting Big Blue is a field goal-plus favorite in the Cardinals’ home opener. And don’t be shy about laying points on the road with Daniel Jones and Co. as the Giants own the league’s second-best against-the-spread road record (28-14) over the last five seasons.

CBS’ late-Sunday national game looks to be a beauty as the Cowboys welcome Aaron Rodgers and the Jets to town for their home opener. Rodgers has won four straight and is 6-3 in his career against the Cowboys with 14 touchdown passes and only one interception.

Coach Sean Payton gets a second straight home game to open his Denver tenure. That’s not good news for the visiting Commanders as the Broncos are 16-4 straight up in their last 20 September home games with the visitors dealing with early-season conditioning at altitude.

We get an AFC East matchup on Sunday Night Football. The Dolphins have won five of the last seven meetings (6-1 ATS) and have opened as slight road favorites. But it’s not exactly an advantageous spot as Miami is playing its second straight road game while the Pats open with a pair of home dates.

In the first of two staggered-start Monday night games, it’s a meeting of two new NFC South quarterbacks in the Saints’ Derek Carr and Panthers’ No. 1-overall draft pick Bryce Young. Carolina is the slight home favorite after having won three of the last four meetings, including a season sweep a year ago.

The later of the two MNF games takes us up to the AFC North where the Steelers are home for the second straight week. Pittsburgh has owned the series over the last decade-plus, posting a 20-6-1 record against its division rival, and are slight favorites here.
