Home advantage the key for Forest

Brentford will look to avoid a fourth straight defeat in all competitions when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the only Premier League match on Sunday.

The two teams are only separated by one place and one point in the table, but Forest have a narrow advantage after a recent dip in form for the Bees.

Thomas Frank’s side have lost successive league games to Newcastle United and Everton, and were defeated 1-0 by Arsenal in the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening.

Steve Cooper’s side have used the City Ground to get them out of some sticky situations since they returned to the Premier League.

The Tricky Trees have only lost two of their past 17 Premier League matches at home, with those defeats against Newcastle United in March and Manchester United in April.

They will be supremely confident of picking up another positive result, and they look to be playing Brentford at the right time. The Bees have lost their way a little of late, but they should still be able to get on the scoresheet.

Brentford have only played two matches on the road in the league so far, and while they failed to score against Newcastle they put three past Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Forest may be strong at home, but they have conceded in nine of their past 10 Premier League matches in front of their own fans.

Nottingham Forest vs Brentford tip 1: Nottingham Forest to win and both teams to score @ 9/2 with Sky Bet

Gibbs-White to lead the Forest charge

Forest have several players who will be key to their chances of victory, including playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White.

The former Wolves man is the heartbeat of his team and constantly looking to get on the scoresheet. Only Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez has had more shots without scoring in the Premier League than Gibbs-White, with the Forest man trying 12 times to find the back of the net.

He is ambitious and creative and will be shooting from all angles to try to give his team the lead, so it would be a surprise to see him not hit the target on a couple of occasions.

Nottingham Forest vs Brentford tip 2: Price boost – Morgan Gibbs-White 1+ shots on target @ 1/1 with Sky Bet

Flekken could be in for a busy afternoon

With Gibbs-White and Co pushing for the win, Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken may find himself a busy man.

The Bees shot-stopper has made 17 saves this season for his new club and he will be expecting Forest to shoot on sight, especially with Taiwo Awoniyi in the team.

Awoniyi has scored three goals in six matches so far this season in the Premier League, while he also scored for Nigeria during the recent international break.

In his previous 10 games for club and country, Awoniyi has netted five times, so he should be able to get involved in the final third.

We could witness a fiery encounter as well and Forest look like the team more likely to get in trouble with the officials.

Forest and Tottenham have picked up the most yellow cards so far this season, each collecting 21 cautions in their first six matches.
