Bank on goals in west London

Brentford sit just three points above the relegation places and, although they have a game in hand on most teams around them, a run of eight defeats in 10 matches in all competitions is a real worry.

Thomas Frank’s men take on a Nottingham Forest side who have won three of their past four games, beating Newcastle United and Manchester United before knocking Blackpool out of the FA Cup.

Forest have scored at least twice in each of their previous five outings and could be involved in another entertaining affair here.

Six of Brentford’s 10 home games in the league have produced over 3.5 goals and against a visiting side in such good goalscoring form, a repeat of that looks overpriced.

Seven of Forest’s last 11 matches in all competitions have produced four or more goals and their resurgence under their new manager could be set to continue. Take over 3.5 goals to be scored here.

Brentford vs Nottingham Forest tip 1: Over 3.5 goals @ 9/4 with Sky Bet

Toney to return in style

A major boost to Brentford’s prospects for the rest of the season is the return of Ivan Toney, who is available again following suspension.

The forward will captain the side in his first game back and remains their primary goal threat with current top scorer Bryan Mbeumo on the sidelines.

The England striker scored 20 goals in 33 league games last season and is an accomplished penalty taker. His return may rejuvenate Brentford and he could land on the scoresheet on his comeback.

Wood firing Forest revival

Darren England has been one of the most card-happy referees in English football this season, averaging 65 booking points per game. He could be busy once again in this contest.

Games between teams who are closely matched tend to generate more cautions and 50 or more booking points is the first pick in our bet builder.

Both teams have found the net in six of Forest’s previous seven games and the same looks likely when they take on Brentford, both teams having scored in seven of their last eight games.

Chris Wood has been key to Forest’s success in Taiwo Awoniyi’s absence and has become increasingly influential for Nuno Espirito Santo.

The striker now has five goals in his last five games and has also picked up an assist in that run, he could well add to his tally on either count here.

Brentford vs Nottingham Forest tip 3: Bet builder - Over 50 booking points, both teams to score and Chris Wood to score or assist @ 9/2 with Sky Bet
