Nottingham Forest vs. Newcastle Odds, Predictions & Betting Tips

Nottingham Forest face Newcastle in the Premier League on Friday evening and we’ve called on our man Anthony Eadson to provide us with his best bets for the game from The City Ground.

Forest currently sit two points above the drop zone heading into this fixture, however 77% of their points this campaign have been collected in home matches. Steve Cooper’s side have not tasted defeat on home soil since September in the Premier League, with their most recent result being a 3-1 defeat on the road at Spurs last weekend.

Newcastle will still have their sights set on a top-four finish this season. The Magpies are four points behind Tottenham in fourth, but do have two games in hand over Conte’s side. Last Sunday’s 2-1 home win over Wolves ended a five-game winless run, but Eddie Howe will be well aware his side have failed to win any of their last four away from St James’ Park, only scoring one goal in the process.

Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle Tips

Miguel Almiron & Serge Aurier 1+ Foul

Both of our tips on Friday come from the player fouls market provided by either Betfair or Paddy Power. First up we are backing Miguel Almiron and Serge Aurier to give away 1+ foul in the game, which is available at 13/10.

Almiron was dropped to the bench for the first time this season against Wolves, but came on to score the winner and off the back of that he should regain his place in the starting XI. In all of his last six appearances, Almiron has committed 1+ foul and he is the first part of this double which is our main play here.

Paired with Almiron is Serge Aurier to commit 1+ foul. Looking at the former Tottenham-man’s foul figures from in recent weeks and in his last five league matches his foul totals read 1,3,2,1,2. Aurier will be up against the pacey Allan Saint-Maximin and combining him with Almiron to concede 1+ foul pays 13/10.

Kieran Trippier & Morgan Gibbs-White 2+ Fouls

We’ve also picked out something at a bit more of a price in the form of Kieran Trippier and Morgan Gibbs-White to give away 2+ fouls.

Betfair go 8/1 for this Bet Builder double and let’s start with having a look at Kieran Trippier. Only Joelinton, who is suspended for this game, has been shown more yellow cards this season for Newcastle than Trippier with five. When it comes to fouls, the right-back has given away 3+ in his last two, with this selection of 2+ landing in six of his last 12, giving appeal to the 6/4 on show for a repeat on Friday.

With no Brennan Johnson here, even more impetus will be on Morgan Gibbs-White to perform in the final-third against Newcastle. In four of his last nine league matches Gibbs-White has given away 2+ fouls and the 23/10 looks a little too big here as we approach the business end of the season.
