Now is your last chance to buy low on Flames Stanley Cup odds

Every NHL team has played at least 41 games, so we’re now officially at the halfway point of the NHL season.

That means that now is the perfect time to place some bets on a few futures.

If there’s one team that I would recommend buying stock in right now, it’s the Calgary Flames. They had a high roster turnover from last season, losing players like Matt Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau, but gained players like Jonathan Huberdeau and Nazem Kadri.

The change in roster caused them to stumble out of the gates to start the season, but there are signs that they’re turning things around and are well poised for a second half run.

Let’s take a look at where they stand in a few different futures markets.

Stanley Cup Odds

Pacific Division Odds

As of writing this article, you can bet on the Flames to win the Stanley Cup at +1800 and win the Pacific Division at +800.

I’d recommend you do both. I just placed both those wagers myself.

If the playoff began today, the Flames would be sitting in the first wild card spot with 51 points. That’s impressive considering they haven’t played close to their best hockey this season.

But, they’re 6-2-2 in their last 10 games and their stats have been impressive during this run. Time is running out before sportsbooks will adjust for how well they’ve been playing.

During this 10 game stretch, they rank second in the NHL in CORSI% at 59.23%. That’s the best mark in the Western Conference by 6.04%.

What’s more important, is they’re finally playing as well in their own end as they did last season, when they were the second best defensive team in the league, next to only the Bruins. During this run, they lead the NHL in expected goals against at 2.3, 0.46 better than the next best team.

The key to their long term success will be their goaltending, which is what ultimately cost them in the playoffs last year. Luckily, Daniel Vlader has played the best he has all season this month, and Calgary will need that play to continue. He’s on the verge of taking over the top spot from Jacob Markstrom, who sports an ugly .893 save percentage on the year.

With all of that being said, the Flames still present great betting value to go on a deep playoff run and potentially win the Pacific Division. They currently sit only seven points back from the Vegas Golden Knights for the division lead.

The value won’t last forever, so bet on them now before it’s too late.
