NRL 2022: Second-row power rankings 16-1

The 2022 NRL regular season is over. Jeremiah Nanai had a fantastic rookie campaign for the Cowobys. Isaiah Papali'i and Angus Crichton continued to produce consistent performances on the edge.

Kenny Bromwich is one of the most experienced players on this list. Bromweg averaged just shy of 100 run metres per game in 2022.

Nat Butcher played 24 games for the Roosters last season. He scored 10 tries and made 19 tackle breaks. His defence improved and his combination with Sam Walker improved.

Luciano Leilua is a talented big man who could join the Cowboys mid-season. He has played 21 games and has scored 3 tries, 4 linebreaks, 18 offloads, 108 run metres and 25 tackles per game.

Liam Martin was at the forefront of Penrith's run to the minor premiership this year. He took over the starting role from Kurt Capewell. Martin crashed over for eight tries during the season.

Kurt Capewell played for the Broncos in 2019. He won a premiership with Penrith in 2021. Capwell was part of the Queensland Maroons team during the Origin series.

Jaydn Su'A played 18 games for the Dragons this season. He averaged over 100 metres per game and made 51 tackles.

Arrow played 23 games this year. He is expected to be selected for the Kangaroos squad for World Cup.

Haumole Olakau'atu played 21 games for Manly this year. He made more tackle breaks than any other second-rower. Olokau’atu scored nine tries and made 10 linebreaks.

Nikora has been a key player for Cronulla this season. He has scored 7 tries and made 6 linebreaks. Nikora will be a big part of the Kiwis hopes of taking out the World Cup later this year.

Hudson Young played 22 games for Canberra in his second full year. He scored 13 tries and made 11 linebreaks. The 24-year-old is a hard-nosed player who plays as well as any other player in the position.

Shaun Lane had a great year in 2022. He played 22 games, made 7 linebreaks and 12 linebreak assists. Lane averaged 127 metres per game and 30 tackles per match. Ryan Matterson was moved to lock to accommodate Lane.

Angus Crichton played a fantastic season for Bondi at both club and rep level in 2022. He scored 5 tries, 11 linebreaks, 4 linebreak assists, 29 offloads, 123 run metres + 31 tackles per game. Crrichton is set to stay in Bond i for another two years.

Keaon Koloamatangi is a rising star in the NRL. He plays 80 minutes most weeks and averages over 130 metres and 30 tackles per game. Souths have scored seven tries this season.

Viliame Kikau is a dominant second-row player. He will join Canterbury next year. He is hard to handle close to the line and has a brilliant sleight of hand.

Isaiah Papali'i played 24 games for Parramatta Eels this year. He scored 10 tries and broke 90 tackles. Papaloi is considered one of the best attacking forwards in the NRL.

Jeremiah Nanai played 21 games for the Cowboys in his rookie season. He scored 16 tries and averaged just shy of 100 run metres per game. His form was rewarded with an Origin debut for Queensland.
