Nuggets at 76ers Prediction

The Denver Nuggets pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Denver Nuggets have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 10 of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after coming up short against the Bucks in a 107-99 road loss on Wednesday. Aaron Gordon led the team with 26 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, Bones Hyland added 15 points off the bench while Bruce Brown chipped in with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot just 39 percent from the field and 11 of 34 from the 3-point line as they struggled without Nikola Jokic in the linuep and trailed going into halftime, before things got worse in the second half where they fell behind by 14 points which proved too much to overcome.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been on fire as they’ve won 11 of their last 13 games overall and they will be gunning for a seventh straight victory after sneaking past the Nets in a 137-133 home win on Wednesday. Tyrese Maxey led the team with 27 points and five assists off the bench, Joel Embiid added 26 points with 10 rebounds while James Harden chipped in with 23 points and seven assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 51 percent from the field and 18 of 38 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 75 points in the first half to take a 10-point lead into halftime, but they couldn’t put the Nets away and had to escape on free throws after their lead got cut to just two points.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team above .600, 7-2 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The 76ers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games against a team above .600.

Head to head, the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings overall, the Nuggets are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Philadelphia and the Nuggets are 4-11-2 ATS in the last 17 meetings overall.

The Nuggets should have Nikola Jokic back in the lineup, but they are still keeping an eye on Michael Porter Jr and Jamal Murray who are both listed as questionable. The 76ers don’t have anyone to worry about except for Joel Embiid who is listed as questionable for this one. Two of the best big men in the league could be clashing in this one, but the Nuggets are only 4-11-2 ATS in the last 17 meetings overall. The status of Embiid has a major impact on this game, so while I like the 76ers  at the moment, I’ll be leaning towards the Nuggets if Embiid sits out.
