Outcomes for the Coyotes in the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery; top prospects

The 2022 NHL Draft Lottery is on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Arizona Coyotes have the second-best odds at claiming the No. 1 pick. Montreal Canadiens have an 18.5% chance at the top pick, but the draft lottery consists of two draws, one for the number one pick and one to decide the no. 2 pick; the remaining draft selections are based on team records. The Coyotes will pick no later than No 4 in the 2022 draft on July 7.

The lottery winner will get Shane Wright, a 6'1" right-handed player with elite playmaking ability. Wright played for Kingston in the OHL last season and scored 94 points. He also played with the Canadian National Team at the 2021 IIHF U-18 World Championship.

Cooley is a playmaking center who could be the next prize in the draft after Wright. He played for Team USA U-18 and scored 75 points with 27 goals.

Juraj Slafkovsky was named tournament MVP at the 2022 Olympics. He scored seven goals in as many games for Team Slovakia. Slifkovski has had a relatively quiet professional career scoring just five goals for TPS in Finland.

Simon Nemec is a 6-foot, 190-pound defenseman who had 25 assists playing for Nitra in the Slovakia Extraliga. Nemce was a member of Team Slovakia at the 2022 Olympics.

Jiricek is 6-foot-3, 189 pounds and the second-ranked defenseman. He suffered a knee injury earlier in 2022.
