Owen Power and Mason McTavish Co-Favored

A defenseman has won the Calder Trophy in two of the last three years. Before 2020, forwards had won it in eight of previous nine seasons.

Owen Power played for Buffalo Sabres last year. He is a favorite to win the Calder Award. Mason McTavish is also a favourite. He played in the World Junior Hockey Championships in December. The winter version was postponed due to Covid-19.

Owen Power and Mason McTavish are co-favored for Calder Trophy. Mc tavished played for Team Canada at the WJHC this summer. He registered 17 points in seven games. His goal line save in the gold medal final helped Canada win the tournament.

Matty Beniers, Juraj Slafkovsky and Shane Wright are Calder Trophy contenders. Owen Power and Mason McTavish are co-favored.   -Owen Power is the favorite. Mason is not. Simon Edvinsson is a longshot. He is expected to succeed Moritz Seider as a defenseman for Detroit. Jurj Slaffkovky and Wright were drafted fourth and fifth respectively.

Owen Power and Mason McTavish are co-favorites in the Calder Trophy odds. Beniers is third in Calder trophy odds at +550. He is expected to play a lot of games for Seattle this season. He has already represented Canada at the World Championships and Olympics.
