Pakistani actress Sehar Shinwari promises to go on date with Bangladesh cricketer if they beat India in World Cup clash

PAKISTANI actress Sehar Shinwari has promised to go on a date with a Bangladeshi man if his country beats India in the Cricket World Cup.

It comes after cricket's most famous feud resumed on Saturday, with India ultimately defeating its arch-rival Pakistan by seven wickets.

India will next go up against Bangladesh on Thursday.

Sehar posted on X, formerly known as , on Sunday: "InshAllah, my Bengali Bandu will avenge us in the next match.

"I will go to Dhaka and have a fish dinner date with Bengali boy if their team managed to beat India."

Some were enraged by the actress' post while others were pleased.

One person wrote: "Thank you, love from Bangladesh, we Bengali inshallah beat both of India and Pakistan."

Another said: "Why not make the same offer to the other team as well. At least you can be sure to have a date!!"

Someone else commented, "never ever happen... India will win 100%" while another wrote, "Keep dreaming".

By Wednesday, Sehar's tweet had received nearly 400 comments and been viewed more than 17,000 times.

The India-Pakistan cricket rivalry is one of the most intense of any sports rivalries in the world, stemming from bitter diplomatic relationships and conflicts such as the Indo-Pakistani Wars.

The two sides first played in 1952, with players from both teams still facing intense pressure to win today.

A total of 10 teams are competing in the Cricket World Cup 2023, being held in India from October 5 to November 19: England, India, Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands.

While Australia has historically dominated the tournament, some say India now appears to be the strongest team.

The Sun's Cricket World Cup betting guide took a closer look at who will be lifting the trophy in November's final in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, fans were forced to flee from their seats when scaffolding collapsed from the roof during Australia's clash with Sri Lanka at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, India.

Huge gusts of wind stormed over the stadium, causing a banner to detach and fall to into the stands.

The game was forced to pause for 30 minutes during the ordeal.
